Sometimes I hate myself

I have always been a trusting person. In more recent years I am getting away from that, but it is hard. In 2003 I called to consolidate my student loans. I was to get a 3.x percent interest rate. I called and confirmed everything, but didn't keep notes. Well, today I was going through stuff online and saw my interest rate at 7.14% oh my jesus. So, I call. My loans were never consolidated.

So.freaking.pissed.

There has to be someone you can talk to. Don't they keep notes... probably not.
Speak to a manager if you have to.

Wow. Sorry to hear that. But 7.0% still isn't too bad. (In the future kids will be borrowing at 9% if rates keep going up. Then who is going to go to college at all?) Just get it done now. Maybe if you shopped around you can find someone who can offer you something lower?

Damn...I don't know how much in loans you have left outstanding, but besides going back and talking with them again...maybe you could pursue some other loan options? 0% BT, bank loan, prosper.com, etc?
